The Concept
Congratulations to Matt Donaldson of Pegasus Bay Winery for being judged winner of the Riesling Challenge 2010!
The New Zealand Riesling Challenge is a unique offering to the wine-drinking public. The concept behind the Challenge is simple:
One block of Riesling Grapes from Waipara, the winemakers’ favourite and New Zealand’s most flexible grape;

This competition is a world-first in terms of providing a means of establishing the extent to which the winemaker’s individual skills and style can sculpt a given – and matching – batch of grapes into a world-class wine.
The result? A limited release of cases containing one bottle of each winemaker’s wine – available on 12 December 2010.
Don't miss your chance to taste twelve of the very best wine-makers’ interpretations of Riesling, sign up for a pre-order notification now!
